Interactive Design by Rob Layton

Document timeline

This interactive presentation was for a case that involved an employee stalking a co-worker. The client wanted to be able to jump to different points in the timeline and pull up relevant documents. The timeline format was utilized to reinforce the co-worker’s distress over a long period of time.

This job began with a set of documents that had to be digitized, cleaned, and imported into powerpoint. Relevant documents were made into entries, which linked to animations that faded the documents in. One of the entries even has a sound clip of a recorded voicemail. A depth of field effect was used to provide greater focus on whichever document was being displayed.

This was one of the first interactive presentations I put together, and it allowed me to experiment with allotting more control to the user.
